Visit To Meander 20th October 2012 2:30 PM

Docomomo is delighted to announce a visited to Meander guided by Ruth O’Herlihy

20th OCTOBER 2012 2:30 PM

This is a unique opportunity to visit a truly inspiring House and be
guided by an expert on the building. Meander is a cedar-clad detached
house dating from 1939 designed by Alan and Máirín Hope. Long
recognised as a fine example of Modernism in Ireland, it retains all
original fittings and furnishings in a mature landscape context and is
currently lived in by their grand-daughter and her family.

September 20th, attendance is limited to 30 people in total, there is
a fee of 5 euro per visitor ( payable on the day). Tours will be given
of the house and the garden in groups of ten.

Visit to Central Bank 17th of September 6:30 2012

Docomomo is very excited to announce a visit to the Central Bank , guided by Miriam Fitzpatrick

17th SEPTEMBER 2012 6:30 PM

The visit will take place on Monday the 17th of September at 6:30 pm.

Attendance is limited to 10 people. This is a very rare opportunity to
see inside a “most emphatic c20 architectural presence” as described by
Christine Casey. Hugely innovative for its time, the structural system
meant that each floor was built at ground level and then lifted into
place with all its service equipment and fittings in place. Bands of
floor-to-ceiling glazing offer dramatic views of the city.
