Robin Walker celebrated by UCD Architecture 100!

An exhibition of photographs by John Donat of Robin Walker’s architecture will open at UCD Richview on Monday next, October 24, 2011, as part of the centenary of the School of Architecture at UCD. There will also be an associated DOCOMOMO lecture by Simon Walker, architect and son of Robin, in the Red Room at 6.30pm on Monday. For those of you who missed Simon’s brilliant talk earlier in the year, on the occasion of the Heroes and Anti-Heroes of Modern Architecture symposium, organised in the context of IMMA’s The Moderns exhibition, this offers the perfect opportunity to catch up on one of the founders of Scott Tallon Walker who worked with Le Corbusier and studied under Mies van der Rohe and Ludwig Hilberseimer and was among the greatest figures in Irish 20th-century architecture.
